First of all, what’s navel gazing? 

‘Navel gazing’ is modern-day slang for the word “omphaloskepsis“, which is a word with Greek origins that means literally, “contemplation of one’s navel as an aid to meditation”. These days people often use the term ‘navel gazing’ when they are referencing introspection (and sometimes it implies narcissism, since it’s introspection done without the meditative aspect). read more »
