Fashion powerhouse Macy’s and fashion tech startup Nineteenth Amendment have launched their partnership selling independently designed fashion through the retailers website. Nineteenth Amendment’s Co-Founder, Amanda Curtis, said this partnership is “a huge win for independent designers everywhere and US manufacturing.”
Nineteenth Amendment was founded in 2013 and has created a platform for emerging fashion where independent designers create and sell their works while at the same time giving their online users the opportunity to pre-order clothing at a pre-purchase price. Nineteenth Amendment only manufactures in the US making their business model even more interesting.
According to BusinessWire,
The exclusive partnership will expose Nineteenth Amendment’s stable of up-and-coming designers to Macy’s Millennial shoppers who will have the opportunity to purchase garments made on demand in the USA from more than 300 designers worldwide. This alliance is the result of Macy’s mentoring of the fashion tech start-up as part of the inaugural New York Fashion Tech Lab in 2014.
